The Aare Gorge is a popular excursion destination between Meiringen and Innertkirchen. Over thousands of years, the Aare glacier and the Aare river dug a bed up to 180 meters deep into the limestone here. The crevice is only one meter wide at its narrowest point. The easily accessible path is 1.4 km long and can be walked in about 45 minutes.
